What it is:
ROYSTON THICK ‘N QUICK MASTIC is a cold-applied, air drying, hydrocarbon resin base coating designed for underground protection of all fabricated steel products such as pipes, tanks, valves, conduits, and structural steel.

What it does:
ROYSTON THICK ‘N QUICK MASTIC is compatible with a wide range of commonly used pipe coatings and construction materials. It offers improved physical properties, and is compound to provide better resistance to water penetration than conventional cold applied mastics. When applied over our Raid Red Synthetic Primer, the resulting THICK ‘N QUICK coating system shows maximum resistance to the disbonding effects of cathodic protection as determined by A.S.T.M. Test No. G8-85T. This is premium grade mastic. Smooth coats of uniform thickness may be obtained.

Where to use it:
ROYSTON THICK ‘N QUICK MASTIC should be used as a general purpose coating for corrosion protection of underground steel pipeline systems, buried storage tanks, valves, fittings, etc. Also suitable for a wide range of additional industrial and construction purposes.

How to use it:
Handling Precautions: ROYSTON THICK ‘N QUICK MASTIC is a flammable mixture which should be kept away from heat and open flame. Prohibit welding sparks and smoking. Use with adequate ventilation. Contains aliphatic and aromatic solvents, avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of vapors or fumes. Avoid contact with skin. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Call physician immediately. Keep out of reach of children.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be dry and cleaned of all rust, scale, soil, mud, oil, grease and other contaminants in the field by wire brushing. Sand blasting or chemical treatment may be more convenient for in-plant surface preparation. For best results surface should be coated with Rapid Red Synthetic Primer.
Application:
THICK ‘N QUICK is applied by brush, spray, roller or gloves. Two coats are recommended, apply evenly. Each coat may be up to 1/32” thick (wet film). THICK ‘N QUICK comes ready to use. First coat should be dry to the touch before application of the second coat. The second coat should be dry before backfilling. Royston Glas-Wrap may be used for mechanical reinforcement between first and second coats.
