What it is:
Royston’s bridge waterproofing membranes are prefabricated and reinforced/impregnated with materials to provide state of the art quality.  A unique 3 inch “zip strip” (leading edge) guarantees a positive seal at the overlap.

Royston offers a design to give superior support and strength that other designs do no have. The reinforced design helps to protect the membrane from structure damage and increases the expected life of the product.

Most of Royston’s membrane designs can be manufactured with a spun-bonded top mat that supports superior bond to the asphalt overlay, not allowing slippage that can happen with other designs.  This is supported by Technical research done by Wisconsin DOT and Vermont DOT.  Copies of the reports are available from Royston.

As part of Royston’s installation process, primers are provided for superior bonding to the bridge deck surface and edge sealing products for seams and edge details.

Royston Pavement Glas a reflective cracking membrane that is a prefabricated rubberized asphalt membrane built around high strength knitted fiberglass reinforcement. This provides a tough, elastomeric waterproof membrane barrier over cracks and/or joints in existing concrete or asphalt pavements under new asphalt overlays.
